Saturday Evening, 7:30 p.m.
Billy Huddleston preached from Mark 1:2-8.
The prophecy of a messenger, Mark 1:2-3.
John came, v.4.
Jesus said John was great. What made him great?
God really does use strange people.
John the Baptist:
- A strange beginning, his birth
- A strange dwelling, the wilderness
- Strange dress, camel's hair and a leather belt
- A strange diet, locusts and wild honey
- A strange message, he just said it the way it was
- A strange response, the people came en masse
But what made him great?
He had a very strange characteristic: He lived all his life for one moment.
He lived his entire life to point others to Jesus!
"Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!" (John 1:29)
"He must increase, but I must decrease" (John 3:30).
